Cosmic Series is created by four single casks distilled at Caroni Rum distillery: La Lune (the Moon), Le Soleil (the Sun), Mars and Venus. The whole edition has been dedicated to the most powerful cosmic couples: the Moon and the Sun, Venus and Mars. It’s time we set out to an extraterrestrial journey for good. Those celestial bodies since the time began, have been powerful symbols that ruled human life.
This rum bottled into Mars and Venus casks was distilled at Caroni Distillery in Trinidad on their great column still, being a classic example of their Heavy Type Rum. First two single casks no. 60 from year 1997, and no. 84 from year 1997 were bottled in Spring 2021 at cask strength at the age of 23 YO. The other two casks no. 81 from year 1997, and no. 2185 from year 1998 are coming to bottling in 2023 to join the first two.
Four casks show compound structure and character of flavor for which Caroni distillery was famous for. Superb quality of liquid. Excellent, collectible labels.

Color: deep amber gold,
Nose: olives, sea salt
Mouth: oak, olives, salt & pepper, cane, mint, pudding, pallet of fruits
Finish: long finish – pallet of fruits, some petrol notes, caramel ice cream
Comment: super nice rum, truly men’s strong spirit.
Cosmic Series – Venus, Caroni Rum 1997, Single Cask #81, bottled 2023, 25yo, 215 bottles, 60,1% ABV, tropic/cont ageing
Color: deep amber gold,
Nose: oak, olives, salt & pepper, apple, cherry,
Mouth: apple pie, cherry pie,
Finish: long finish – homemade jam, some rubber notes,
Comment: little ‘lighter’ & fruitier than above one. Still superb dram. Also more rubber notes.
